Meet Dr. Lisa Hutson, Psy.D.
Licensed Clinical Psychologist/Owner
Prior to establishing my private therapy practice in the Charleston area, I honed my skills in a variety of clinical environments. These include college counseling, hospital-based eating disorder and health psychology programs, group practices, and community mental health. My experience also extends to providing psychological evaluations and related services in the area of bariatric/weight loss surgery and veteran disability cases.
Drawing from my own lived experiences during my younger years and later through my doctoral rotation at The University of Chicago Medical Center’s Eating Disorder Clinic, I cultivated a deep passion for treating individuals struggling with disordered eating and body-image concerns - areas that continue to be a primary focus of my practice. I also have a strong interest in PTSD/trauma work and have extensive training in this area. Group therapy work as well as understanding the therapeutic value of nature and wilderness-based therapies are other clinical interests of mine.
